According to RT, Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, has expressed his confidence that the African continent is destined to become one of the leaders of the emerging multipolar world. Putin has stated that Moscow is “determined to continue building a strategic partnership” with the nations of Africa.

President Russia, Vladimir Putin made these remarks during the International Parliamentary Conference entitled “Russia – Africa in a Multipolar World,” which got underway in Moscow on Monday and was attended by delegates from approximately forty different countries. This conference is being held in preparation for the upcoming Russia-Africa summit, which will take place in St. Petersburg in the month of July.

“African nations are continuously increasing their weight and role in international affairs, and they are asserting themselves more confidently in politics and the economy. ”

Putin went on to say that Russia and African nations stand together against “the neocolonial ideology” imposed by certain powers in the world. Specifically, he was referring to the United States. “Many states in Asia, the Middle East, and South America stand on similar positions, and together we make up the world majority,” he added. “The majority of the world’s states are located in these regions.”

Putin emphasized that Russia is already actively investing in Africa through a variety of state-owned and private companies. At the same time, Moscow is dedicated to continuing to build what it calls a “strategic partnership” with the continent.
