The man ‘madam’ accused of running a child prostitution sex ring, Gerhard Ackerman, allegedly tried to find a gun to blow his brains out in order to avoid going to jail.
This was made public on Monday in Johannesburg’s Gauteng High Court, according to News24.
In connection with an alleged sex ring that involved allegedly trafficking young children for clients to later sexually abuse, Ackerman is facing trial on hundreds of counts.
After failing to show up in court, Ackerman vanished on Thursday.
He had disclosed his illness to his defense lawyer.
But on Friday, it came to light that Gerhard Ackerman had sold his moveable assets and left his house.
He was located on Sunday and detained once more.
Ackerman was reportedly seen on Thursday by a friend of his who knew him as Dante.
He claimed the alleged leader of the child sex ring informed him that he had sold all of his possessions and was relocating to Cape Town.

Additionally, according to reports, Ackerman claimed he needed a gun to kill himself because he didn’t want to go to jail.
The trial is still going on.
