Markus Jooste’s Hermanus mansion and Stellenbosch’s Lanzerac wine estate were attached by the SA Reserve Bank on Tuesday afternoon.
According to News24, the Western Cape High Court granted the SARB’s application to attach Jooste’s assets for violating foreign exchange regulations.
News24 reports that the bank raided Lanzerac and attached his Voëlklip Hermanus home on Tuesday afternoon.

His wife Ingrid as well as son Michael Jooste also were Reserve Bank respondents. The Joostes’ Silveroak Trust trustees Gary Harlow and Willem Adriaan du Plessis are also respondents.
The SA Reserve Bank was allowed to attach Silveroak Trust assets, including art worth almost R99 million and financial assets worth R1.2 billion.

The court ordered Ingrid Jooste’s Lexus and Kombi, as well as Markus Jooste’s paintings, jewelry, and firearms worth almost R800,000.
Forensic experts secured computers as well as other equipment and attached all their movable goods in Hermanus and Lanzerac.
Jooste bought the Rupert family’s Voëlklip, Hermanus home. The R81 million Hermanus property covers two plots and is 7 000m2.
