Explosion in Jeddah Cemetery, four wounds; Many diplomats were present

A bomb blast on Wednesday in Jeddah, a non-Muslim burial ground in Saudi Arabia, left many people injured. Indeed, there were European diplomats present to commemorate the anniversary of the end of the First World War a hundred years ago. The event was organized by the French Embassy. Information about the attack has been provided by the French Foreign Ministry.

The ministry said, “Like every year commemorating the end of the First World War, this year was also held in a non-Muslim cemetery in Jeddah in which many diplomats were present. Meanwhile, an ID blast was conducted this morning in which many people were injured. In this ceremony, the attack has been condemned by the embassies. This is the second attack in Jeddah in the last few weeks before the security guard of the French Consulate was attacked on 29 October in which a Saudi-origin man was arrested. 

Worldwide, November 11 is observed as Armistice Day. This was the end of the First World War. The UK-based Commonwealth War Memorial Commission (CWGC) urged a star to be named after him in honor of soldiers who lost their lives in world wars and join the global digital commemoration ceremony. CWGC Director General Bury Murphy said that for more than a century we have gathered at the same time on the same day and bowed our heads in honor of the soldiers who lost their lives for us in two world wars. But this year due to the pandemic Kovid-19 we cannot gather together and so on Memorial Day this year, we will look at the stars in the night sky in memory of the martyrs who gave their lives. By the end of the war in November 1918, 11 lakh Indian personnel were sent abroad. From France to present-day Iraq, Served from Egypt to East Africa and Greece to Gallipoli in Turkey. The CWGC said that the contribution and sacrifice of Indians in the First World War had played an important role in the success of the Allies.

The First World War, which began on 28 July 1914, ended on 11 November 1918. In this war, half the world was burnt down. This great war was fought in Europe, Asia and Africa. Due to which problems like malnutrition, starvation etc. took birth in many countries participating in the war. This world war ended Russia, Germany, Austria-Hungary and Osmania. Today, more than a hundred years have passed for this event. 74,000 Indian soldiers laid down their lives in this war.
