Mpumalanga’s Hawks arrested an estate agent for selling an RDP house for R100k.
Accoridng to IOL, Helga Kruger, 51, allegedly sold an RDP residence worth R100k in June 2014.
The Hawks assert that the house was sold without the owner’s consent.
Captain Sekgotodi, Hawks spokesperson, said Kruger was the third accused in the fraud case after Fotoboy Makua, 55, and Annica van Staden, 46, were arrested and released on bail for selling the RDP house for R100k.
According to Housing First Property CC, Kruger marketed RDP houses in Middelburg’s Tokologo Section.
Annica van Staden’s name appears as the registrant for Housing First CC in the offer to purchase.
After selling the home to the complainant for R100k, Sekgotodi claims that the buyer was asked to deposit the money into Foto Security Services’ corporate account.
The Hawks said Kruger did appear in the Middelburg Commercial Crime Court on Thursday, in which her case was postponed to October 26 for her to get a legal aid lawyer.
She’s still in jail.
