Gerardo Martino – The Argentine, who turns 60 on the opening day of the World Cup, was hired in 2019 with the objective of guiding the “Tri” to the quarterfinals for the first time in over three decades. Martino led Atlanta United to the 2018 US Major League Soccer Cup championship and was named coach of the year for his efforts. He has also handled Barcelona and the national teams of Argentina and Paraguay.

Key Personnel

Guillermo Ochoa is the most-capped goalkeeper for the Mexican national team and holds the record at his club, Club America, for playing the most games without conceding a goal. Ochoa spent three seasons with French club Ajaccio before being named Mexico’s starting goalkeeper for the 2014 World Cup.

His curly hair and headband made him instantly recognizable. In that year, he earned praise for almost single-handedly holding Brazil at bay to help his team earn a crucial 0-0 draw.
