After a crash that resulted in the deaths of four of its members, the EFF urged Mpumalanga officials to “pay special attention” to the state of the province’s roads.
According to News24, they perished on Wednesday in Kwa-Mhlanga near Vaalbank when the bakkie they were riding in overturned.
After the collision, one survivor was taken in critical condition to a private hospital.
The five members were on their way home, per the EFF, when the crash occurred.
According to the party, “They were on their way home after arranging work in advance of the by-elections planned for June 1st at the Dr. Moroka municipality.”
Since then, the EFF has expressed its dissatisfaction with the state of the roads in Mpumalanga and it has urged the authorities to act.
We all are aware of the poor condition of the roads in Mpumalanga, and we encourage the authorities there now to focus on improving the condition of the roads there, despite the fact that the conditions leading up to the accident are still unknown.
