Fans of football in South Africa are in a euphoric state after their team’s coach, Pitso Mosimane, earned his first victory during Tuesday evening’s match against Al-Ahli Saudi FC.

According to Times Live the team coached by Mosimane rallied from a goal down to score a late winner against the winless Najran and move up to fourth place in the standings. Since his appointment as head coach was made public a month ago, this was Mosimane’s second match in charge of the team.

The first goal was scored by Najran in the 30th minute, and they entered halftime feeling confident that they would ultimately prevail.

Nevertheless, Mosimane managed to rouse something in his team during the halftime break, and as a result, they entered the second half feeling revitalized and ready to fight.

In the 54th minute, Abdullah Al-Mogren scored the goal that tied the game, and then with just a few seconds left on the clock, he scored another goal to seal the three points for his team.

After the nail-biting victory in the nick of time, Mosimane expressed his gratitude to the supporters for continuing to believe in his squad.

“We thank you for your support tonight, and you carried us,” he said to the audience. “We appreciate it.”

He admitted that it was a “tough game,” but he said that they were approaching the situation one step at a time.
