After confessing to raping and impregnating his 14-year-old daughter, a 37-year-old man was sentenced to five years of direct imprisonment.
The man suggested he serve a sentence without incarceration, according to IOL.
The presiding judge was unsatisfied with the defendant’s plea, so he convicted him to five years in prison and ruled that he was ill suited to carry a firearm.
In his findings, he stated that the stepfather had abused a position of trust, and that the man’s name would be added to the National Sexual Offender’s Register.

The State had also turned down a Section 105 accord, a plea bargain between the man and his attorney.
After being arrested in 2019, the man pled guilty to the charge of statutory rape.
Just after young girl began putting on weight, the teen’s mother discovered she was pregnant.
Concerned for her health, the family took the adolescent to the doctor, who confirmed that she was indeed pregnant.
Prior to his arrest, the man had been released with a warning. His court appearances were ordered to be resumed.
DNA tests revealed that the baby’s biological father was the stepfather.
During sentencing proceedings, Kapolo Busiswe, a Department of Correctional Services probation officer, took the witness stand and testified that the stepfather alleged he was in a relationship with the young girl. This was his wife’s daughter, which he neglected to mention.
The officer requested that the court consider a prison sentence that would expose the defendant to rehabilitation, recreation, and psychology programs.
As the verdict was read in court, the mother of the adolescent sobbed loudly.
