On Sunday night, a shooting at a house party in KwaZakhele, Gqeberha, left eight people dead and three others wounded, News24 reports.
A homeowner was celebrating his birthday when two armed robbers entered the Makanda Street yard between 17:15 and 17:30 and began shooting at the visitors, according to police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu.
Three women and four men out of the seven victims perished at the scene. Two women and two men, totaling four people, were shot and taken to the hospital.
“Eight people have died as a result of the injuries sustained by one of the victims, who passed away in the hospital. One of those who passed away was the home’s owner “said Naidu.
Police have reportedly started a manhunt for the shooters, but no arrests have been made, according to Naidu.

Police have opened cases involving murder and attempted murder, but the victims have not yet been named.
Lieutenant General Nomthetheleli Mene has asked a group of detectives to find and apprehend the offenders.
