The massive fire of a burning shack and the wails, screams of two children who were trapped inside of it woke up members of the community, while the children’s mother sat there watching from the outside, Scrolla Africa report.
The mother responded that she was cooking the children so that she could eat them when residents of the Waterworks informal settlement in Grabouw in the Western Cape asked her why she wasn’t saving her children.
In the wee morning of Friday morning, the residents of the home, including the sister of the mother who is 32 years old, were unable to save the children who were three and five years old in time, and as a result, the children died in the fire.
Zandile Nodada, who is 24 years old, desires that her sister be imprisoned for the actions that she took.
“I was sound asleep when I became aware of the screams of other people. When I got outside, I saw the smoke coming from my sister’s cabin, so I ran inside.
She hastened to the rescue of her sister and the children, but she was taken aback to find her sister sitting unruffled in front of the adobe hut that was on fire.
“I could hear her children wailing and pleading for assistance. When I questioned her about why she had chosen to leave the children inside the burning shack, she explained that she was barbecuing them so that she could eat them.
However, the intensity of the fire prevented the neighbors from successfully rescuing the children. We are unable to determine the source of the blaze that she started. Because it was so powerful, there was no way that anyone could have made it inside.
She stated that despite the fact that her sister frequently used abusive language toward her children, nobody ever suspected that she would actually kill them.
“I want her to spend the rest of her life behind bars. What she did demonstrates that she never loved her children, and the fact that she sat there while they wailed for assistance reveals a great deal about who she is. Around her, no one can feel secure. She ought to be isolated from society for her own good.”

The suspect, on the other hand, has been dealing with issues related to his mental health, as the suspect’s sister pointed out.
According to the spokesperson for the Western Cape SAPS, Brigadier Novela Potelwa, a mother who is 32 years old has been arrested and is being charged with murder. “The arrest was made in relation to an incident that occurred in the early hours of Friday morning in the informal Waterworks settlement,” the Grabouw police said in a statement.
They were surprised to find a shack that was already burning when they arrived. During the course of the investigation, the torched remains of two young boys were discovered.
